The Sigsbee Avenue Church of God

Preamble

We, The Sigsbee Avenue Church of God, a non-profit organization, assembled at our place of worship at 1322 Sigsbee Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43219, in order to care for the spiritual, secular, temporal, and financial affairs of the church in a legal way, do hereby establish this constitution and by-laws. We recognize the Word of God as the only divine standard of faith and practice, as our final authority, in all manners of life and conduct. This organization is effected for religious, charitable, and educational purposes to advance the Kingdom of God among men.

Name

The name of this organization shall be called Sigsbee Avenue Church of God, located at 1322 Sigsbee Avenue, Columbus Ohio 43219, whose general offices and publishing plant known as Warner Press, are located in Anderson, Indiana, and associated with the National Association of the Church of God, West Middlesex, Pennsylvania.

Purpose

The purpose of this organization is:

1. To promote the worship of God in personal and corporate prayer; to teach the truth of God’s word with relevancy for everyday living; to help people to believe, belong and become fully devoted followers of Christ; to love God by worshipping Him in Spirit and in truth; to win the lost to Christ through evangelism and public preaching of the Word of God; to cultivate a positive Christian testimony in the community; to reach the community and world by obeying the Great Commission of Christ; to love and minister to people spiritually, socially, mentally, physically and emotionally.
2. To nurture spiritual growth through intentional discipleship; to properly administer the biblical ordinance; to administer church discipline; to build healthy, authentic relationships that bring others closer to God; and to empower the next generation to impact the world for Christ.
